I created this blog in order to help others to see the beauty and creativity that you can have with plantation shutters. For a long time now I’ve been doing interior design and the one thing that always makes a big difference in any house are great shutters.
Most people settle for blinds, shades, curtains, or other window treatments not only to keep the sun out of the house and the living area cool, but they hope that these curtains will also provide the design and beauty that their soul needs. More often than not it’s quite the opposite.
Curtains are for old people. Very rarely do you see modern houses that have a large amount of curtains. That’s because in large quantities they tend to give the house a more older feel. No only that, they gather dust and get dirty really fast. Sometimes they get so dirty that they cause the entire room to have a bad odor.
Blinds and shades are great for keeping the sun out, but rarely are the aesthetically pleasing. In fact, the reason the majority of people buy blinds or shades is because they don’t feel as though they have the money to invest in plantation shutters. When push comes to shove, you just don’t get the quality and the look and feel that you get when installing shutters in your home.
To end this rant, the point of this post is to help inspire you to think twice about what you buy to decorate your windows. While you may not think so, your windows add a lot to the atmosphere of the room. The better they look, the more beautiful your entire room is going to be. Stop thinking of window treatments as an expense. Because of the value that they bring your home, they are more of an investment than they are a cost.
